The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) will host a special 50th Anniversary Church Service as part of its year-long celebrations under the theme ‘50 Years Strong: Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future.’
This community-wide gathering is open to the public and will bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, partners, and friends of UCCI for an afternoon of worship, reflection, and gratitude.
The service will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Sir Vassel Johnson Hall on the UCCI campus. The Guest Speaker is Pastor Christopher Murray of Bethel Refuge Apostolic Church, Founder of the Boyz 2 Men Mentorship Group and a long-time champion of youth development in the Cayman Islands.
Attendees can expect musical ministry from UCCI students, alumni, and community groups, scripture readings and prayers of thanksgiving. The service will also reflecton UCCI’s 50-year legacy and its role in shaping the Cayman Islands; and a collective blessing for the next fifty years of service and impact.
“For five decades, UCCI has walked alongside the Cayman Islands, educating, uplifting, and opening doors of opportunity,” said Dr. Livingston Smith, Acting President and CEO of UCCI.
“This service is a moment of thanksgiving and a renewal of our promise to deliver access, excellence, and service for the people of these Islands for the next fifty years and beyond.”
The event is free and open to the entire community. We warmly welcome everyone to join us in this time of celebration.
Other events taking place as part of UCCI’s 50th anniversary include a Community Marathon, a Gala Dinner and a Distinguished Lecture Series led by national and international thought leaders, an Anniversary Book and a year-long Community Outreach drive.
