Applications are now open for spring classes at the University College of the Cayman Islands for those who wish to study local and go far. For those who are accepted as new students, and for continuing students, class registration opens on Oct. 27.
And for some lucky students, Christmas could come a little early.
That’s because UCCI is having a promotional giveaway for those who register early. The deadline for the contest is Dec. 1. All students that complete their application and/or registration will be automatically entered. Two winners will be chosen at random on Dec. 2, and will have the choice of receiving either a tablet or a laptop computer.
“Over the past 12 months, we have seen demand rise at UCCI and many of our courses fill up extremely fast,” UCCI Director of Admissions and Registration Tamsin Deasy said. “We want to ensure that both existing and new students get the classes that they want. By registering early, not only are they securing their places, but they allow us to add even more classes to our schedule to accommodate demand.
“We also know that many students need iPads and laptops to support them with their studies and so, by offering these as incentives for early enrolment we are helping our UCCI community. Student success is our priority and we look forward to welcoming many familiar and new faces in Spring 2021.”
Because UCCI’s student population has continued to grow in the past few years – up 43% over a four-year period – classes have been filling quickly. Students who register early have more of a choice in picking which classes work for their schedules.
UCCI has a wide array of courses starting in spring for all ages and aspirations. From technical and vocational education and training courses, which allow students to learn a trade, to associates and bachelor’s degrees and beyond, UCCI has something for everyone
“This is the best time to register to get what you want,” Deasey said. “And, you may just get a tablet or a laptop to boot! Applications are open now with class registration available from Oct. 27.”
Spring classes begin Jan. 10.
