Cake Decorating Level 2

With practice and patience, cake decorating can be learned. This exclusive course starts you out with the basics from designing your workspace, decorating tools, prepping a cake for decorating and many tips of the trade to help you create delectable cakes, icings and fillings. Students will learn the importance of texture and the temperament of sugar paste, how to avoid cake catastrophes, ways to fix them and still keep your cake looking perfect.

You'll develop techniques practiced by professional cake decorators such as applying fondant, how to make different gum paste flowers and other fondant a gum paste decoration.

Course Requirements

This course is design for home bakers with the basic cake decorating skills and students who have already completed level 1 basic cake baking and decorating.

Lesson 1: Introduction Cake Decorating Tools and Workspace

Lesson 2: Planning and Designing Your Cake 

Lesson 3: Working with Fondant Recipes, Ruffles and textures 

Lesson 4: Working Sugar paste Recipe and storage. 

Lesson 5: Cupcake toppers 

Lesson 6: Cut out and molded flowers and shape 

Lesson 7: Unwired flowers/ Fantasy flowers 

Lesson 8: Creations and calla Lilly 

Lesson 9: peony 

Lesson 10: Sugar Bows, loops and curlicues 

Lesson 11: applying and smoothing fondant 

Lesson 12: Express Your Creativity last class

 

Final Assessment

Students will design and make a celebration cake of their choice to demonstrate different techniques learnt in the class.
